AN ANALYTICAL STUDY OF INFLUENCE OF SUWANNASĀMJĀTAKA TOWARDS PEOPLE IN RAI-AOY SUB-DISTRICT, PHICHAI DISTRICT, UTTARADIT PROVINCE

Abstract

The research objectives were as 1) to study the origin and essential of Suwannasāmjātka, 2) to study the Buddhadhamma principles appeared Suwannasāmjātka and 3) to analyze the influence of Suwannasāmjātaka toward Raiaoy people, Pichai district, Uttaradit province. This research was a qualitative research. It had both documentary study from text books, research and in-depth interview. The results were found as follow;

1. The origin of Suwannasāmjātaka found that During the Buddha period, there was a monk who brought foods from arm bow to provide his mother. Many monks had seen and were angry and then, they told this case to the Buddha. The Buddha said that the Suwannasāmjātaka and taught Suwannasāmjātaka to monks that when he was bone a Suwan-nasām. He did the same as this monk.

2. The Buddhadhamma priciple appeared in Suwannasām found that it consisted 1) the Law of Karmma or the cause and effect, 2) Sacca is the truth of Suwannasām who intended to take care his parent’ blind and intention of his mother when he was shoot, 3) Compassion principle or the principle of love to all living creatures, 4) Gratefulness of Suwannasām that he treated his parents, although he had got shoot but still worried in parents and 5) the Royal Virtues of King, after got the sermon of Suwannasām , the king was lived and ruled by the 10 Royal of the king.

3. The influence of Suwannasāmjātaka towards Rai-Aoi sub-district people found that it divided in 4 aspects: 1. Belief aspect in Buddhadhamma principles appeared in Suwannasāmjātaka. 2. Family aspect, such as law of action, veracity, kindheartedness, gratefulness and virtues of the king. 3. Social aspect and 4. Intelligence aspect, it had Influenced the lifestyle of Rai-Aoy subdistrict which people understood the law of action and the truth of life.
