Abstract

This academic article investigates and analyzes approaches to academic administration through Buddhist integration, focusing on integrating Buddhist principles with modern academic administration concepts to promote balanced and sustainable education development. The key principles include the Threefold Training (Sīla, Samādhi, and Paññā) and other Buddhist principles such as the Four Paths to Success (Iddhipāda), the Four Bases of Social Solidarity (Saṅgahavatthu), the Four Divine Abidings (Brahmavihāra), and the Four Noble Truths (Ariyasacca). These principles are applied to academic administration to cultivate ethical values, integrity, and social responsibility among learners, fostering their overall academic development. This approach integrates experiential learning, mindfulness, and essential life skills through participatory teaching within a peaceful learning environment.

Additionally, it highlights teachers and administrators’ roles as Kalyāṇamitta or spiritual friends who not only impart knowledge but also guide learners spiritually and foster positive relationships between learners and their communities. The Buddhist-integrated approach ensures that academic administration in educational institutions is goal-oriented and effective, balancing intellectual growth and moral development. This approach promotes long-term individual and societal growth by preparing learners for modern challenges and developing quality human capital, ensuring sustainable social advancement.
