PARTICIPATION OF THE VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEERS IN THE ELDERLY HEALTH PROMOTION MUANG PHRAE DISTRICT, PHRAE PROVINCE

Abstract
The aim of this cross-sectional survey research was to study the participation of the village health volunteers (VHVs) in the elderly health promotion in Muang Phrae District, Phrae Province. Determined as the sample group 281 VHVs. Data were collected by using questionnaires during 26th May – 9th June 2023. The data were then analyzed by using descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi–square analysis, and Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient statistics.
The results of this study showed that the overall participation of the VHVs in promoting health promotion of the elderly in Muang Phrae District, Phrae Province was at a moderate level of 89.7%; followed by a high level of 7.1%, and a low level of 3.2%, respectively. The personal factors of gender, age, marital status, education level, income, The social support was positively correlated with the participation of the VHVs at a low level (r=0.629), and it was statistically significant (p-value < 0.05). But occupation and duration of being VHVs were correlated with the participation of the VHVs in the elderly health promotion in Muang Phrae District, Phrae Province.
