Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study diphthong reading by using reading exercises of the 5th grade primary students at Mae Pong Pracha Samakkee School 2) to develop the skill of diphthong reading of the 5th grade primary students at Mae Pong Pracha Samakkee School. The class-research used a one-group experimental research by measuring the results of pretest and posttest. The sample group were 20 students from the 5th grade primary students, obtained by purposive sampling. The research tools were 1) learning management plans, 2) skill exercises, and 3) tests. Data were analyzed by means of averaging. and standard deviation. The dependent t-test was used.

The result of this research found that: a post-test using diphthong reading of the 5th grade primary students at Mae Pong Pracha Samakkee School, was higher than before at the statistically significant level of .05
